BAM Construct UK is recruiting a Business / Strategic Analyst, based in Leeds.

Main purpose and scope of role

Support the development of new and existing markets and new and existing business relationships for BAM by providing in depth and rigorous analysis of competitors, market segments, and new business opportunities. The role will be based in Leeds and will report to the Director of New Business and also work closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications, and the Director of Business Planning to support the development of new markets and services.

About the role

• Analyse strengths and weaknesses of key competitors in areas such as construction, FM, property, and design practices to provide insights into opportunities for BAM to grow its market share and to develop new business areas.

• Analyse current and potential customers to help to define a compelling offer that would attract them to BAM as a future business partner

• Research and analyse information about the industry derived from Government and statutory agencies, policy and industry think-tanks, competitors and commercial information providers

• Prepare succinct, strategically-focussed reports to help develop or challenge the business case for investment in new opportunities

• Investigate and maintain a pipelines of strategic opportunities

• Identify trends that could provide future opportunities for BAM, including using the data within our business, to improve our offering and to develop new services and products to existing and new clients , and to help BAM develop new products and services

• Support research into new products that may have a commercial value to the business so that they can be submitted to Royal BAM Group for consideration in its Innovation Funnel

Who are we looking for?

A degree level qualification in business, economics or statistics, or equivalent would be desirable

Key skills and experience:

• Data collection, research and analysis of different sources of information with the ability objectively to identify relevant facts and information, draw conclusions, and prepare recommendations

• Able to compile succinct reports that analyse complex information, draw conclusions, and explain those conclusions in clear terms with appropriate graphics

• Technologically proficient and comfortable in sharing and collaborating environments such as Office 365 and SharePoint

• Good time management and organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple task and prioritise work  appropriately

• Excellent written and oral communications skills and the ability to relate well to people from all backgrounds and levels of seniority

• The ability constructively to confirm – or challenge - assumptions by providing relevant evidence and analysis
 
• Experience/knowledge  of construction, property and facilities management businesses would be beneficial
