The Western region is currently recruiting an Education and Community Co-ordinator. The position will be based at one of the regional offices, ideally Bristol but regular travel will be required throughout the region.

The Education and Community Co-ordinator will be the regional contact for all social value, education and community activities within the Western region; you will liaise with internal and external stakeholders, to promote, deliver and monitor BAM's social value, education and community engagement. Please note this role has significant monitoring and reporting responsibilities.

About the role
• To collate all necessary data from projects to input to BAM's Social Value Measurement Tool and produce monthly and annual reports for the regional management team.
• Assist the region in developing and delivering education, employment and community engagement plans, to ensure that contractual requirements and client expectations are met
• Representing BAM on frameworks and supporting their aims
• Support projects in fulfilling their commitments to local employment and training, including apprentice targets where required
• Proactively establish links with relevant education establishments, training providers, industry bodies and community organisations
• Provide input, as requested, to the preparation of tender and bid documentation
• Organise work experience placements on projects or in offices including the development of resources to support these placements
• To undertake activities which:
- Promote construction as a career choice
- Develop skills within the industry- particularly within our supply chain
- Encourage new entrants to the industry, with a focus on apprentices
- Enhance the delivery of the school curriculum, with a strong focus on STEM
- Provide work experience opportunities for students
• Assist projects in meeting the minimum requirements of the Considerate Constructor's Scheme with regards to community engagement
• Liaising with the supply chain to provide opportunities for unemployed people and apprentices into work
• Promote activities with the BAM charity partners, and proactively encourage volunteering and fundraising within the region
• Drive BAM's strategic agenda to enhance lives, by supporting centrally organised community engagement initiatives at a regional level
• Monitor and report all community activities using the London Benchmarking Model, BAM SMaRT, Biosite and where appropriate other data collection tools
• Produce monthly reports on activities and achievements for the regional management team and contribute as appropriate to the monthly board report
• Contribute to knowledge sharing across the business through the development of learning resources and case studies that capture best practice
• Attend bi-annual meetings to receive training updates, share best practice and network with community teams across the business

Who are we looking for?
• An understanding of community engagement, ideally with experience of monitoring and reporting data
• Experience of managing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
• Self-motivated and flexible to manage own diary and tasks
• A high degree of energy and self-motivation
• Strong organisational skills
• Enthusiasm and ability to inspire and engage a broad cross section of stakeholders
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A fully licensed car driver and willingness to travel regularly throughout the region
• Previous experience in a similar role in the Construction industry would be advantageous, but not essential
