BAM Construction is recruiting a Planner in the London Region of our construction business. The role is part office based in central London, and site based on projects across the region.

About the role
Construction Method
• Identifying and selecting the appropriate techniques & sequence of events for each project
• Analysing sites & local environments to determine appropriate logistics solutions & resources
• Using specialist planning computer software, including Powerproject
• Preparing logistics plans including awareness of 4D
• Writing method statements, programme commentaries, logistics strategies incorporating graphics
• Risk and opportunity analysis

Programmes & Schedules
• Calculating production outputs, draw up and present plans & programmes.
• Scheduling labour, equipment, temporary works, design information requirements procurement and other pre-construction activities for each tender or project.
• Work closely with site and preconstruction teams

Monitoring & Reporting
• Monitoring progress throughout the construction process & comparing this with the planned programme
• Reporting findings & recommending solutions to recover delays.
• Recording relevant events for potential entitlement claims.
• Using graphics and narratives to reflect progress, event impacts and forecasts.

Presentations, Liaison & Meetings
• Clearly communicate method and programmes at presentation to clients and internal BAM teams
• Develop tender submission responses to meet tender deliverable requirements
• Use of MS PowerPoint or other presentation software to communicate key construction method, logistics and programme challenges
• Liaising with the project / site manager & surveyor throughout the process, making adjustments to project plans as necessary
• Providing advice & support on planning matters to the project teams; client facing duties.

Health and Safety
• Drawing to the attention of management any hazards relating to the project or to plant and materials to be used on the project
• Commitment to safe working and understanding BAM Health and Safety policies

Who are we looking for?
• An energetic, proactive, hands-on, confident and self-motivated approach
• An understanding of planning processes & activities
• Experience of NEC forms of contract would be beneficial but not essential
• Healthcare experience would be beneficial but not essential
• Ideally Degree qualified
• Proficient experience in software use: Powerproject, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word.
• Knowledge in MS Project and Primavera would be beneficial, but not essential
• Some knowledge and practice in simple 3D / 4D modelling
• Some knowledge and practice in writing tender submission responses
• Knowledge of general construction techniques and methods
• Health & Safety (CSCS) qualification and training
• Demonstrable experience in contract and tender planning; an ability to take the lead in the programme and time management of construction projects
• Good communication skills, ability to work within a team environment or as an individual and be prepared to respond directly to Clients' requests or enquiries
