BAM Construct UK is recruiting a Strategic Development Manager. The role will have a UK-wide remit, reporting to the New Business Director.

Main purpose and scope of role

Introduce new products and services and develop early growth stage services that will generate strong profit levels for BAM. Develop existing and new strategic relationships with potential new business partners that could collaborate with BAM. Develop relationships at national level with existing and potential new clients. Work closely with marketing, communications and existing business development teams to sell BAM's integrated services and products across the UK.

About the role

• Assist the Business Unit Directors and New Business Director to identify and interrogate the potential to diversify into new markets and managing in depth market reviews when required.

• Work with the Business Analyst to research prospective customers in target markets and then to develop a BAM proposition aligned to customer requirements for strategic relationships at a national level with existing and prospective clients.

• Work with Business Units to ensure potential targets fit with the requirements of Business Plans and resources

• Where required, support the development of relationships and partnering with specialist supply chain members.

• Assist bid teams to develop bid proposals that positively differentiate BAM from competitors and to ensure bid proposals are fully responsive to formal and informal client requirements.

• Co-ordinate the necessary and appropriate management reviews during the bid process including the presentation of development targets, update reports for review.

• Prepare reports and settlement presentations and information to ensure timely reviews and approvals. 

• Work closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications to develop a marketing and communications strategy to promote products and services to new and existing customers.

• Liaise with all regional Business Development Managers to gather and share market intelligence they have acquired locally.

• Work closely with the Marketing Information Manager to develop and improve the content of BAM sales and customer management applications to ensure our CRM is up to date with accurate and relevant data.

• Contribute to the research, development and production of the annual BAM Construct UK Marketing Plan.

• Develop new ways to improve the BAM customer experience and build brand loyalty to BAM.

• Work with the Business Analyst to research and analyse industry trends to identify opportunities for BAM and develop proposals to take advantage of these.

• Educated to degree level or equivalent, although not essential

• Able to bring solutions together and build new business partnerships using a positive influencing style - building collaborative relationships through open communication and respect

• Able to develop high quality proposals and plans

• Travel across the UK will be required and occasional trips abroad

• Experience of the construction, facilities management and property business lines would be beneficial
